SAMPLES OF SOUND & MUSIC
On this page you can listen to samples of my Sound Editing & Incidental Music & Themes.
Sound Editing is a difficult one for picking samples, so I have included just a few examples to give you an idea of what I am capable of. Use the Audio Player below to listen. For the music, I have tried to include a diverse range to show different areas I can cover. There are 12 tracks in total, the player being at the bottom of the page after some brief comments on each one.

01: DOCTOR WHO: ARRANGEMENTS FOR WAR - SAMPLE 1 [2:08]
The first Doctor Who I worked on required a romantic theme for the most part and this is the first piece of music I composed for it. I decided from the start to make the whole thing based around acoustic sounding instruments with only small amounts of electronic.
02: DOCTOR WHO: ARRANGEMENTS FOR WAR - SAMPLE 2 [2:03]
Sad times as a loved one dies. Now more electronic to give the sad, melancholic feel
03: DOCTOR WHO: CAERDROIA - SAMPLE 1 [1:01]
Weird Electronica with the Doctor in the divergent Universe.
04: DOCTOR WHO: CAERDROIA - SAMPLE 2 [1:47]
More from the Divergent Universe but more Atmospheric and Creepy!
05: DOCTOR WHO: DREAMTIME [2:00]
Set on Uluru floating through space, this was crying out for an Aboriginal / Tribal feel. This track has a spacey atmosphere about it to start, but moves on to the tribal rhythms.
06: DOCTOR WHO: SINGULARITY [1:35]
One of my favourite soundtracks. I really enjoyed writing this with it’s very electronic Sc-Fi feel. I tried to limit myself to FM Synths and uncomplicated sounds to give it the clean sound that it deserved.
07: DOCTOR WHO: THE JUGGERNAUTS [1:13]
A battle ensues between the Daleks and Mechanoids!
08: SARAH JANE SMITH: SNOWBLIND [1:26]
Again, I really enjoyed working on the Sarah Jane Smith music as it gave me a chance to do something a bit more traditional and modern, rather than the atmospheric sci-fi I had been doing a lot of.
09: SARAH JANE SMITH: MAIN THEME - EXTENDED VERSION [1:58]
Writing Theme tunes is quite a difficult job, even though they ultimately don’t need to be very long. trying to find the right feel for the style of drama can be difficult. However, I nailed this first time much to my surprise!
10: SPACE 1889: RED DEVILS - SAMPLE 1 [1:37]
A completely new challenge on this one, which had to be orchestral and epic to match the Victorian setting (despite it being in space). I hadn’t really done full on Orchestral before, but I am pleased with the results, and it’s actually very enjoyable to compose.
11: SPACE 1889: RED DEVILS - SAMPLE 2 [1:13]
Continuing the Orchestral theme, this track has more excitement and tension to it.
12: SPACE 1889: MAIN THEME [1:14]
The Theme to Space 1889. Now this one went through 7 completely different version and at that point I was giving up. Then John came back to me and said he’d found himself humming the 3rd version so I should pursue that. So I did and here it is.
13: ENEMY OF THE DALEKS: MUSIC SUITE 01 [2:46]
The lastest addition to the list is this suite from Enemy of the Daleks, which as you will hear is somewhat different from the norm. Plenty of heavy guitars making it more rock orientated. Great fun to work on as you can imagine!
